Raju & Sorbani
26 December 2014
Thank you for giving me an opportunity to write about me and my better-half. I am really glad and thankful to Shaadi.com, without you it would not have been possible. I happened to encounter with the profile of Sorbani in the Shaadi.com site and sent an interest in the month of May 2014. Within a couple of days time, I received a call from her father Mr Paul suggesting me to visit the Paul family. I wasn't able to make it to go to Shillong to meet them since I happened to return from a vacation. So, I requested her father for a video chat with Sorbani. One fine evening in the month of June 2014 we happened to catch up for the first time over Skype. It was a nice experience talking to my future lady. Next day we went ahead with a video chat once again which lasted for hardly less than a five minutes time frame. I decided to go ahead and hence I requested my parents to go and visit the family and Sorbani and confirm with them if we can extend our relationship to the next level. My parents were astonished since I gave them the decision without even seeing her face to face. Eventually they met the Paul family and the lady somewhere in the month of June 2014 and gave shared words that I wanted to marry her. However her family were a bit reluctant since they and Sorbani wanted to see me in person. Fortunately I could make a short trip to my native in the month of August'2014 and it was then that I along with my parents happened to visit Shillong. First time I saw my future in person, it was a Sunday and 3rd of August'2014 and spent a good time over a cuppa with her. That moment itself my heart said she is the lady of my life. I never shared this feeling with the Paul's. I returned Home with my parents and on reaching home in the late night I happened to text her "Happy Friendship day" and that kick started the new relationship. Our parents stole the screen and expressed the desire to schedule the ceremony as early as possible. . We invited the Paul family to visit us in our Native the following weekend. Everything went fine on the day and 16th of Aug'2014 was my Ashirwad ceremony (Engagement ceremony). Within no time I was engaged. It was an awesome feeling. We started conversing over phone and chats. With her I never felt I was talking to a stranger. Our relation got clicked in the first instance and thats the best part - we became friends forever. Since there were no recent schedules available for marriage as per the Hindu calendar, we had to hold our horses till the 7th day of December 2014 to materialize the wish. Sorbani's Ashirwad ceremony (the bridal shower) was delayed till 23rd of November'2014, which was again a Sunday (lolz) Finally we tied the knot on the 7th of December 2014 again a Sunday :) and won her in my life. We recently shifted to Pune and today I got an opportunity to say thanks to you. I on behalf of both of us and our families express thanks and gratitude to you and your entire team. Cheers! Raju
