It was our parents who set up our respective accounts on Shaadi.com. I was a bit skeptic about Shaadi.com since I had always had grand romantic ideas about meeting my future husband in college and getting married after a long courtship. But I was definetely curious about how this worked and would sometimes check my profile just for the pleasure of seeing how many guys had responded to my profile though I never made any attempt to contact them. This continued until I got in contact with him, or rather till my Parents got in contact with his parents. My parents were on their yearly visit to US, and they told me very casually to check out his profile, that his parents had sent shown an interest in my profile and that he was quite good looking. I did and for the first time, looking at his picture I had a very good feeling about him. He was good looking and his profile seemed interesting as well. I was instantly interested and was wondering how i should start correspondence since, till now the communication had been carried out between our respective parents. I was also a little concerned that we might both be disappointed in each other once we corresponded or that we may not feel a connection. But then I thought, well we had nothing to lose and that if it didnt work out between us, it just wasnt meant to be and we would both know it instantly. So, fueled by that thought, I started my 2 year long correspondence with him, first by adding him on yahoo messenger, then on orkut. Our first chat was enough to convince us that we were great for each other, and that we could communicate for hours without getting bored. It has definetely been a great journey since then. We met up 5 months later and decided to tie the knot. we got married 4 months back and feel truly blessed to have met one another.
